Taipei City Government invited Assistant Administrator Mr. John Rabin, Chief of the Operations Capabilities Branch Mr. Shaun Allen, and International Relations Specialist Ms. Katie Sizemore of FEMA in 18th September. They discussed how resource allocation is coordinated during disaster response and post-disaster recovery by sharing disaster management during Hurricane Ian and the Kentucky flooding.
The seminar was hosted by Deputy Secretary-General Zhang of the Taipei City Government, and the attendees included representatives from various units of Taipei City Government, Keelung Fire Department, as well as the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) and National Fire Agency.

Director Lin Pei-shan, Associate professor Lu Jing-chein, and Wu Rong-ping, led our second-year graduate students to attend. Director Lin and Associate Professor Lu also served as panelists, engaging in a dialogue with Mr. Robin and Mr. Allen on American disaster reduction strategies and practices. Their guidance fostered an interactive exchange of experiences and challenges in disaster management practices and research between FEMA and Taiwan among the attendees and speakers.
