New Taipei City Government invited Wu Wu-tai, Director of Office of Disaster Management Executive Yuan, David O'Neil MBE, Assistant Commissioner of London Fire Brigade, Lee Ching-an, Commissioner of New Taipei City Fire Department, KINOSHITA Osamu, Chief of the Tokyo Fire Department, Lee WOONG KI, Director of Seoul Metropolitan Fire & Disaster Department, Daniel Seet, Deputy Commissioner of Singapore Civil Defense Force, Laurent LECOMTE, Lieutenant-Colonel ENSOSP and Eric Claude MARCHAL, Deputy to the Head ENSOSP to delivered speeches on September 26th.
They shared valuable insights into disaster management, covering topics such as responses to massive incident, evacuating vulnerable populations, smart technology for disaster management, and the evolving roles of firefighters in a changing climate.
Director Lin Pei-shan, Associate professor Lu Jing-chein led graduate students to participating the seminar, where the speakers presented measures and strategies for disaster management from both domestic and international perspectives. Especially the experiences of UK and Japanese search and rescue teams during the Turkey earthquake provided valuable experience.
