Dr. Tso Yi-En, Associate Professor of Department of Political Science, Soochow University, delivered a speech on 12th October.
Dr. Tso has a rich background, including roles as an intern reporter at the China Times and postdoctoral researcher at National Chi Nan University. He received a Ministry of Education scholarship for disaster management science, pursuing his doctoral studies at the University of Texas at Dallas, specializing in disaster management, local governance, China studies, and public policy analysis.
During his U.S. doctoral studies, Dr. Tso engaged with the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and became a certificated member, started his interest in disaster management. Inspired by hosting foreign visitors at the Central Police University's museum, he shifted his focus to interdisciplinary dialogue in social science and disaster management.
