On October 27, four advisors from the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) visited our department. After a meeting with our principle, they were hosted by Associate Professors Wu Zong-Ping and Lu Jing-Chein, along with Professor Huang Jun-Neng from the Department of Fire Science and Associate Professor Wang Zheng from the Department of Public Safety. During the meeting, there was a focused discussion on key topics such as the maintenance of critical infrastructure, cross-organizational collaboration, and casualty rescue. Both parties exchanged opinions and found the discussions highly beneficial.

Our department's faculty members have expertise in various areas, including urban disaster prevention planning, disaster regulations, disaster command systems, evacuation, resilience, and disaster management. Our department closely collaborates with academic research units, both domestic and international, as well as departments such as fire services and police administration. This collaboration positions our department as a think tank for disaster management and public policy. Through the meeting with AIT, there is a deeper exploration of the differences in policies and organizational operations between Taiwan and the United States, laying a solid foundation for future cooperation.
