On May 3, 2024, all students visited the "YongChunPi Ecological Wetland Park." This park under the guidance of the director and Professor Lu Jingchen, , transformed from a military camp into a wetland park, serves multiple functions including urban flood control, environmental education, and ecological restoration.
The park serves as a positive example of successful collaboration between the Taipei City Government and the local community, achieved through platforms such as citizen cafes and forums. The process of two-way communication facilitated by these platforms helps in the creation of urban parks that are more closely aligned with the needs of the public.
The construction and maintenance of the YongChunPi Ecological Wetland Park highlight the importance of engaging various stakeholders in public affairs. Only through the collective participation of the community, government, NGOs, and citizens can genuine sustainability be achieved.
