This departmental activity participated in the “Intelligent Technology Law Enforcement Forum” of the university, “Intelligent Firefighting and Disaster Prevention Applications”, which was presented by Mr. Bo-Huan Hsiao, Chief of Disaster Rescue Section, New Taipei City Government Fire Department, and Mr. Ching-Hsuan Tseng, Chief of Fire Investigation Section, Taoyuan City Government Fire Department, with Mr. Anping Cheng, Deputy Director of Taoyuan City Government Fire Department, sharing the virtual reality training platform built by the Emergency Response Command Academy of New Taipei City Government, which uses AR to simulate various kinds of localized tin houses, chemical factories, tunnels, and so on.
Mr. Hsiao shared the virtual reality training platform built by the Emergency Response Command Academy of the New Taipei City Government Fire Department, which uses AR to simulate a variety of fire scenarios, such as localized tin houses, chemical factories, tunnels, etc. Trainees can gain knowledge and experience in command and rescue through AR operations, eliminating the physical exertion of wearing full gear and carrying equipment for training.
Mr. Tsang shared the application of 3D laser scanning technology in the field of fire reconstruction and disaster prevention, using point cloud to visualize the scene after a fire. Compared to the past, when multiple photos had to be composited slowly to restore the scene, the laser scanner can be built in a short period of time and is not affected by the light and darkness in the space. In addition, this technology is also used to help companies prevent disasters, after completing the image of the space in the factory, and companies to identify the higher risk locations, and to prevent fires and other disasters.
Technology disaster prevention is the future trend, through technology can reduce the burden of firefighters work, improve the efficiency of disaster prevention work, is also an important area of disaster prevention science is worth investing in research.
